Cursing 101

In a difficult world, sometimes one is forced to make difficult decisions. The lives we lead can be far from fair and it is the mission of Practical Occult to arm our discerning customers with everything they may need, from amulets to sorcerous techniques, to level the playing field.

Coming off of the heels of our Protection Magic series is the other side of that coin: aggressive magic. Making no bones about it, this is a class on cursing. This class will provide the student with an introduction to casting offensive spells that harm people, places and spirits if need be. Defending oneself cannot be entirely an act of fortification and turtling up. Sometimes it takes striking back to solve problems.

Glamour Magic

One of the most under-explained but over-discussed types of magic out there is without a doubt the magic of Glamouring oneself. The sorcery of illusion to make others see and believe things that either are half-true or, in many advanced cases, entirely untrue. The Magic of Land Spirits

Geni Loci, the spirits of the land, are an often discussed aspect of magic in today’s world and have been forever. This crucial component of sorcerous practice is considered a mainstay of many people’s practices and, yet, details about how to flesh it out are sometimes difficult to find in a concrete, direct and digestible form. While the methods by which people go about engaging with the spirits of the world around them are often idiosyncratic, we at Practical Occult have created a curriculum that endeavors to provide active and tangible strategies for the practitioner, novice and up, to have contact with and to build a report with these spirits.
In this class one will learn methods of communication, offerings, methods by which to prove their contact is genuine and more. As operative animists, we will provide not only information about spirits in the deep forest but spirits of the city, suburbs, travel locations and more. From airports to train stations, from your house to a cave in the wilderness, local spirits are everywhere in the rich tapestry of our universe and just waiting to be reached out to by the discerning individual.

Saint Magic

Crucial to folk magic in the Western World, the practice of petitioning saints for aid is a well-known focal point. From nine-day-novenas to altar spaces bursting with arcane and necromantic power to full, semi-sleeping arcanas taught and distributed through culture, visionary experience and rote, the magical world of saintly sorcery is one that yields up its boons to those who would approach it diligently.

It’s so ubiquitous in our lives, so common in our media and our spellwork and, yet, some of us find our successes just beyond our grasp.
