Level Up Course by Jason Miller – Review

In keeping with the recent string of blog posts on the website about my opinions on how to best improve one’s own magic, I’d like to engage in a review of a course that is, in my opinion and experience, one that far too many people sleep on in the modern occult climate. It seems to have been swallowed up by some more seemingly-dynamic offerings from this creator as well as others and I find that to be a shame.

I’ve always been a proponent of cultivation practices in magic. Be it psychic development programs, any of the myriad practices falling under the broad umbrella of “energy work”, mind-palace sorcery and many more, the training of how one can be magical rather than simply be someone who does magic is crucial. I’d go as far as to say it’s the difference in many cases between a magician who is only reliably okay and one who is outright excellent.

To that end, the Level Up Course by Jason Miller needs some attention. I’ve taken it myself, ages ago, and in my opinion it’s the most useful thing he’s ever put out. Fully disclosing the fact that I’ve taken several of his courses, I can fully point out that this one, above the others, produces more enhancements and improvements in practitioners than they would expect or, sad to say, are often willing to put in the work to enjoy.

It’s no secret that a lot of us will read about daily practices and simply not do them or, if we do them, we do the bare minimum to get by. This is no way in any skill to improve and it baffles me that people assume it is not going to be the same in the practice of operative sorcery. So, before you go ahead and read the rest of this, do understand that this class really benefits people who approach it like they would getting in physical shape. You’ve got to push yourself to really shine.

The course itself focuses on everything from magic involving astral projection to creation of etheric structures to the shaping of one’s own spiritual bodies and the mandala palaces that can come with and grow out of them. Hell, the lesson on inner fire alone is worth the price of admission if one is diligent about it. From the practice of placing one’s attention all over and out of one’s body in Jason’s “pulsing the web” practice to the intricate details of the tech behind mantras, this series of lessons will give the eager student plenty of material to practice for, wait for it, the entirety of one’s natural life.

Taking training like this, regardless of what source it comes from, will improve one’s ability to perceive and, thus, engage with magic. As those who have taken my Spirit Diplomacy course will remember, it is our ability to converse with spirits and magic itself that can help us learn to be better at it in ways that no book or even few human teachers ever will. I’d argue that the methods of training Jason outlines here are only complementary to this sentiment.

In short, my beloved discerning individuals, this course does exactly what it says on the tin. It levels you up. Anyone who has been here for a while knows that it is this exact thing that I am not simply passionate over, but about which I am downright rabid.
