We all want improvement and we all want to see our lives enrich. Some of us are in less-than-ideal circumstances and we want to make a change. Here at Practical Occult, we advocate fully the yearning to remake and reshape one’s life.
How can a person be sure this year to come, 2023, will really be their year? Magic. Towards this end, we’ll leave you with a simple spell most anyone can do to help kick-start this process. There’s a lasting and varied folk tradition involving burning a Bayberry candle on New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day. While it doesn’t need to be a Bayberry candle, taking a taper and carving into it what you want for the year to come and burning it during this time, dedicating this action to the manifestation of goals in the next twelve months, is an excellent way to start the year on the right foot.
Conjure oils, powders, herbs and more can be added to this candle. Pentacles can be placed around it to help empower these asks for the year to come. Petitions with seals and sigils can be placed under the candle and so much more. This spell, as simple or as complex as one wants to make it, is all towards the end of beginning the year with dedicated action asking any spirits who are good to you and wish one well to empower this working and, thus, one’s life itself.
The Caveat of course exists to exercise proper fire safety and not burn the house down. That would be a terrible way to start 2023.
